I have written in one form or another for most of my life. Until fairly recently, I mainly wrote poetry. I still write the odd poem, mostly classical haiku.
As a writer, I am best known for my Andersson Dexter series of science fiction/detective novels. The podcast version of three of my novels have been finalists in the Parsec Awards for excellence in speculative fiction podcasting.
My short fiction has appeared in Thaumatrope Magazine, Podioracket’s Glimpses anthology, Luna Station Quarterly and Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, and as episodes of Escape Pod and the Toasted Cake podcasts. I have had haiku in the twitter magazine @7X20 and the anthology 140 and Counting. There are also several short stories available to read for free in their entirety here on this site.
In the physical world, I used to be a civil servant with the Government of Canada and I’m now engaged more or less full-time in writing.
I’m a member of SpecFicNZ and the Codex writing community.
I was born in Canada and lived most of my life there. However, I have dual citizenship (Canada and New Zealand) and I am currently living in Wellington, New Zealand after sailing here from Canada with my partner, Steven. You can read about our journey on our sailboat, Scream, on our sailing blog.
